What is HSPS?
The HSPS (Highschool Student Peer Support) Hub is a student-run non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe and confidential space where high school students can chat freely with a well-trained peer who is also currently a registered student. Such conversation may be about anything (e.g. sharing personal experiences both good and/or bad, voicing concerns about their personal circumstances, or any matter of the student’s concern big or small). We understand that school and/or personal life can be very stressful and we are here for you.
Come talk to us, we are here to listen!
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our services.
Our Mission
LISTEN:
Peers will employ appropriate listening and communication skills to provide support to students without any judgement. Come talk to us about anything!
AFFIRM:
Student visitors can have their experiences, questions, concerns, and/or stories validated by a peer. The peer will affirm and validate the student visitor’s liberty to experience emotions fluidly and will work to ensure that student visitors know that every emotional experience is valid.
CONNECT:
We hope to create a safe environment where individuals feel comfortable conveying their concerns to our peer supporters and to educate students on the importance of taking care of one’s mental health.
